Our Staff

George Johnson was born and graduated from school in Jefferson City, Missouri. He got his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from William Woods University and has completed his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.

George has 3 years of MMA experience and 1 year of formal Jiu-Jitsu before finding his home with Gracie Barra Columbia. His wife, Taylor, has joined him in training Jiu-Jitsu. When not training together, George and Taylor like to relax and watch TV in their free time.

George Joined Gracie Barra Columbia full-time as a program director 5 months after the school opening. He is now a full-time assistant instructor. It’s common to find George training 7 days a week!
